Privacy Policy

Skippa has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. It does not build a profile of you, and it does not sell or share personal data. The pages you visit are examined on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.
This policy explains exactly what Skippa does and does not do with information. It is written to match how the app actually behaves.
Information Skippa does not collect
Skippa does not collect, store or transmit any of the following:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials — Skippa has no accounts and no sign-up.
- Your browsing history, the pages you visit, or their contents.
- Advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, or cross-site tracking data.
- Location data, contacts, photos, or any other personal data on your device.
- Analytics or usage telemetry of any kind. There is no analytics SDK in the app.
Skippa contains no third-party software development kits, no advertising frameworks and no crash-reporting services. It does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because it does not track you.
How Skippa reads web pages
To find a cookie banner, the Safari extension must be able to look at the page you are viewing, including content inside frames and pop-ups. That is why Safari asks you to allow Skippa on the websites you visit.
This examination happens entirely on your device, inside Safari, while the page is open. Skippa looks for consent dialogs and their accept or close buttons. The content of the page is never copied, stored, logged, or sent anywhere — not to us, and not to anyone else. Skippa stops working on a page as soon as the banner is handled.
Information stored on your device
Skippa keeps a small amount of information locally, in a shared app group that only Skippa and its Safari extension can read. It is never uploaded.

Deleting Skippa removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
Reporting a site
If a cookie banner slips through, the Safari toolbar popup has a Report Site button. This is the only feature in Skippa that sends anything off your device, and it only ever runs when you tap that button yourself. Nothing is sent in the background.
When you tap it, Skippa sends:
- the site's domain name and page path;
- the version of Skippa you are running;
- your platform (iOS or macOS) and interface language.
Before anything is sent, the query string and fragment are stripped from the address on your device, so search terms, session tokens and any other parameters in the URL are removed and never leave your device. No identifier for you or your device is attached, so reports cannot be linked to each other or back to you. Skippa will not send a second report for the same domain within 24 hours.
These reports go to a private spreadsheet used only to find and fix sites where Skippa does not work correctly. They are not used for advertising, profiling or analytics, and they are not sold or shared.
If you never tap Report Site, Skippa makes no network requests at all.
Permissions Skippa requests
- Access to websites you visit — required to detect a cookie banner and press its accept or close button. Granted by you in Safari's settings, and revocable there at any time.
- Storage — to keep your settings and the skipped-banner count on your device.
- Tabs — to know which site the toolbar popup is showing, so "pause on this site" applies to the right one.
Skippa requests no other permissions. It does not ask for your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or notifications.
Children
Skippa does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because there are no accounts and no personal data collection, there is nothing for a child to disclose.
Data sale and sharing
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or any other purpose. There is no personal information to sell.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Skippa holds no personal data about you on any server, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Everything Skippa stores lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app. If you have a question about this, please write to us.
Changes to this policy
If Skippa's behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
